Why I Became A Divorce Coach

Kim Boyd

When you’re facing divorce, you want a coach and thinking partner who understands what you’re going through. Well, I have stood in your shoes…and I know what you’re feeling… because I’m the survivor of 2 divorces.

When I was 27 years old, my “perfect” family was shattered when my parents announced they were ending their 30 year marriage. Theirs was the epitome of what NOT to do! There was bad mouthing, mudslinging and putting the adult children in the middle. The stories I could tell you about their 4 year ordeal! Then, my 17-year marriage came to an end when my children were 10 and 12 and I was working full time as a marketing executive, managing 30 peoples. Because my husband and I had both been through the horrible divorces of our parents, we knew that we didn’t want our children to go through what we had. We chose to focus on the positive outcomes that we wanted for our children and ourselves, and we were able to divorce amicably. It’s because of my 2 divorces that I became a divorce coach. I’ve seen what a bad divorce looks like, and what a good divorce looks like. And, I’m passionate about helping you improve the divorce experience for you and your children.

As a CDC Board Certified Divorce Coach®, I have the extensive training and experience needed to help guide you through divorce. From start to finish, I understand the emotions and complex decisions involved , and I offer a compassionate, objective and solution-focused approach to help you work through all that you’re dealing with. You don’t have to do this alone.
